Scoring well on the ACT tests is a crucial step for high school students who want to be accepted to the university or college of their choice. The Social Development Commission (SDC) is seeking to help young students succeed on these standardized tests which are used to determine college admission as well as scholarship opportunities.
A series of free ACT Wings workshops will be offered in July at SDC to help students entering 10th, 11th and 12th grades in September with the test. These one-day sessions will provide practice ACT exams, ACT preparation books, study plans, and tips for success. Individual follow-up meetings will be scheduled with participating students to discuss test results.
The goal of the workshops is to help Milwaukee County high school students understand and prepare for this important college readiness assessment. Interested students must complete and mail in registration materials by June 27th.
