May is Older Americans Month, a great time to bring attention to the issues that affect older adults and create community-wide opportunities to help older Americans improve their quality of life.
On Saturday, May 22, in recognition of Older Americans Month, Garfield-Peace Interfaith Neighborhood Outreach Program is hosting its 2nd Annual Benefit Gospel Concert and Art Show at the Clinton Rose Senior Center. Special guests include King Solomon Gospel Choir, Mt. Zion Gospel Choir, Larry Love and Friends, Karen Jamison & Friend (praise dancers), Clinton Rose Senior Center Choir, Washington Park Senior Center Choir, Soloist Minister Deborah Davis from Mt. Sinai Community Baptist Church, St. Mark’s AME choir, John Reed, Mt. Moriah choir, Pastor Fred Boswell from Free & Blessed Ministry, Bethel Baptist Choir and other guests.
The event begins at 3:00 p.m. with the art show, continues with the concert at 4:00 pm, followed by a reception. This is an opportunity to elevate your spirits as well as your mind, while supporting a valued program. Garfield- Peace Interfaith Neighborhood Outreach Program has served the Martin Luther King District for over 30 years with valuable volunteer services such as transportation to medical appointments, friendly home visits, help with minor home chores, shopping for groceries, guidance with paperwork, and more.
