Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: 2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, 3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, 4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, 5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, 6 a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, 7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, 8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
God has the power to make changes in our lives. It is not the way we were born that we still remain. There is a step of changes from our birth till the end of our lives. Same thing with the plants, corn doesn’t become a cob until it sown on the ground, gradually growing until it is ripe and becomes a cob of corn. Our lives changes from season to season and each season has is own time as the bible says in Eccl. 3:1; there is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven. Whatever we may be going through in our lives comes with the season. Most of the things that happen in one’s life are the things we do not expect. But the good thing is if you know whom you are serving, you know that nothing is too hard for Him to do and you will overcome. If God can allow it to come it means His presence is there with you to bring you out of it. The bible says 1 Corinthians 10:13, (New International Version): No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
Life is ups and downs but we must realize that our Father in heaven will not leave us, nor forsake us. Most times, when God is about to do something good in one’s life, there will be a test that will prove you worthy of the thing. To pass the test, we must be really connected with God so that we will not fail Him. To be able to stand and pass the test we must be rooted and grounded in love and be filled with the fruit of the Spirit. Because, the devil is a liar. For example, when he knows that you are about to be put into a position of a minister or a pastor, he knows you need unity with your family.
He will not use anyone that is far away from you but someone that is close to you to frustrate your patience, to get on your nerves, to curse you out etc. He is trying to do this in other to disqualify you of the plan God has ahead for you.
Children of God, when you know this, in other to overcome Satan from bringing disunity in your family, it means you have to stand against him and cast him out from your family. We must remember that our battle is not a physical battle, but a spiritual battle against the principalities and powers, the rulers and the powers of darkness of this world.
As the Word says in Ephesians 6:12 (New King James Version): For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. We must let God be our refuge, our shelter our redeemer. Stand in prayer during that time and do not give up, win your wife over from the tactics of the enemy, win your husband over from the tactics of the enemy, win your children over from the tactics and attack of the enemy.
You know you need your family! Ask God to bridge the edge of fire around them so that Satan cannot touch them or use them to frustrate your life. We must remember that the bible says a servant of God must not strife not only the servant of God but also with anyone that calls himself or herself a child of God.
When somebody is getting to your nerves how can you do that? Then you must have self-control of yourself. Guide your heart and your mind with all diligence from the fiery dirt arrow of Satan. Don’t allow any creeping thoughts into your mind. We must be able to clean our mind and protect it from any impure thoughts.
The bible says: cast down every imagination and every high thing that has exalted itself against the knowledge of God. Bring into Captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ Jesus.
When going through the season of change, that is the time you are being pruned and refined to be in right standing with God. If you have been an angry or proud person before, your life will be changed and you will become a woman or man with humility and gentle spirit having a peaceful life. Because during the time they are getting on your nerves, instead of retaliating, you overcome anger with forgiveness, humility and gentleness. Then you win and pass the test.
Whatever you may be going through that is not making you unhappy; I want you to know, my brothers and sisters that it is just for a short period of time. Keep your joy and don’t loose it. The season is coming to pass when you shall enjoy your great peace and joy in Jesus name. Hold on to God and remain in his dwelling place. Meditate on Psalm 91. That will be your shield and your buckler. Trust in the Lord. He will bring you out. Your heart will be filled with joy and your lips will be filled with the songs of joy in the name of Jesus.
Prayer for Today
Father in the name of Jesus we thank you for our lives, we thank you for everything that you are doing and thank you for what you will do for us. We give all of our cares and concerns to you concerning our homes, family, business, marriage, ministry, church etc. I ask you to come and take care of it for us. Fill us Holy Spirit with the fruit of the Spirit that we need to sustain us through. Bring good changes into our situation and turn it around for good, so that your name Lord Jesus will be glorified. In Jesus name, Amen.
