Social giveaways set to build anticipation for March 15 Women Leaders Conference
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee will hold their annual Women Leaders Conference on Friday, March 15 at the Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee. The event kicks off at 9am and includes renowned keynote speakers, inspirational breakout sessions and valuable networking – and this year, the networking will begin early, online.
In the weeks leading up to the conference, the UWM School of Continuing Education will be randomly selecting men and women to reward for ‘Following the Leaders.’ The Women Leaders’ LinkedIn connections, Facebook fans and Twitter followers are all eligible for prizes ranging from autographed books from our speakers to Neroli gift packages to Southwest Airline tickets. Connecting online also grants access to exclusive offers, updates, photos and videos from the event.
Last year the conference sold out and this year, Conference director Jan Allen expects the same. “The networking opportunity alone is a huge draw for this event,” Allen explains. “Whether it’s a fellow LinkedIn connection, a speaker that strikes a chord or a conversation with someone sitting next to you, you’re bound to relate to something or someone and in turn, learn and grow from the experience.”
Law professor, author and speaker, Anita Hill will get things started as the morning keynote speaker. Bonnie St. John, Olympian, amputee, Rhodes scholar, former White House official and author, will share her story during the lunch presentation and many local and national women are set to lead concurrent sessions throughout the day.
