Rev. Darryl R. Williams and the St. Mark A.M.E. Church family had the honor of sharing a renowned photo exhibit with the public during this year’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Celebration. The digital photo exhibition “And Freedom For All” contained 48 historical photographs from the archives of LOOK magazine photographer Stanley Tretick.

The photos depict the March on Washington and participants surrounding the Lincoln Memorial; African Americans participating in the March; President John F. Kennedy and Vice President Lyndon Johnson at the White House, U.S. Capitol and Lincoln Memorial with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and organizers.

“Like an unchecked cancer, hate corrodes the personality and eats away it’s vital unity. Hate destroys a man’s sense of values and objectivity. It causes him to describe the beautiful as ugly and ugly as beautiful, and to confuse the true with the false and the false with the true.”-Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The church hosted the exhibit for 5 days, beginning on Dr. King’s birthday this year, Jan. 15. This year’s celebration was the 30th annual one for St. Mark’s A.M.E. Church, entitled, ‘Called To Make A Difference’.
