Career Youth Development (CYD) held its annual event, “Toys for Children that Santa Forgot, but God Remembered” last week at the North Divisioin Campus.
Hundreds of children received toys, sponsors donated toys, and volunteers from Walgreens along with others passed them out to the children.

The Gilbert Brown Foundation and the AT&T Wisconsin Pioneers teamed up once again to hold a free football camp for Milwaukee youth at North Division High School from Tuesday, July 9 to Thursday, July 11. This is the eighth year that Gilbert Brown is offering the All-Pro Football Camp in Wisconsin.

After nearly 25 years of distinguised public service, Charles “Butch” Walton has officially retired as Chief Executive Officer of Career Youth Development, Inc., a 43 year-old social service agency.
According to the Chair of the Board of CYD, Attorney Barbara Franks, Walton became the leader of CYD in 2008 after his dear mother, the founder of CYD, Jeannetta Robinson suddenly passed away during a Survivors of Homicide & Grief Support Group meeting in the organization’s conference room.

The Wisconsin Black Historical Society held the 1st Annual Harry Kemp Photograhy Exhibition last Friday, Nov. 30, 2012. The event featured works of local photographers that included the Milwaukee Courier’s own Robert A. Bell, Pat A. Robinson and Cy White.
