La Causa’s Crisis Nursery & Respite Center host donation drive

12 August 2010

Beginning Monday, Aug. 16 and running through Saturday, Aug. 28, La Causa’s Crisis Nursery & Respite Center will host a donation drive for children in need.

Truly unique to Milwaukee, the Crisis Nursery and Respite Center is a 24- hour free emergency shelter for children during times of family crisis. It is designed to prevent abuse and neglect, provide a safe haven for innocent children, and offer resources to parents who have little support. By acting as a last line of defense for children in vulnerable, often dangerous, situations, the Crisis Nursery and Respite Center has, for 20 years, played a role in creating stability in the community it resides and stemming the cycle of abuse and violence in Milwaukee.

The children we help need:

  • Formula
  • Diapers/baby wipes
  • New/gently used kid’s clothing & shoes
  • New/gently used kid’s games & toys
  • New socks and under wear
  • Craft supplies

To set up a time between Aug. 16 through 28 to donate your items or for more information on our 20th Anniversary Celebration, call La Causa’s Crisis Nursery & Respite Center staff Karl or Staci at (414) 647-5590. We are located on 522 W. Walker Street.

La Causa, Inc. is one of the largest bilingual, multicultural agencies in Milwaukee, serving more than 11,000 individuals every year.
