We Are the Drum – We Are the World, a student and community theater production being staged at the North Division Campus, sold out three times this past weekend, added a late Sunday performance and sold out again. “Ticket demand in all locations and online has surpassed our wildest dreams,” reports director/choreographer, Frank Gatson, Jr.

Gatson, Jr. called to the Milwaukee community to support the young people on stage at North and Milwaukee has answered that call. CAPITA Productions and the schools at the North Division Campus are pleased to announce an extension of the production adding five new performances for March 6th, 7th, and 8th.

This year marks the 20th staging of the show and includes a special tribute to Michael Jackson which is the focus of Frank Gatson, Jr.’s effort.

Frank Gatson, Jr. is an accomplished director/choreographer working with Beyoncé, Backstreet Boys, Destiny’s Child, Maxwell, En- Vogue, Usher, Mary J. Blige, and many others. He also directed, danced, and choreographed for Michael Jackson. Frank joins us without charge and at his own expense giving back to the school and city where he started his journey.

On March 5, 6, and 7 the performance will be fully staged for a second and final weekend.

Tickets are available at www.capitaproductions.org.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. on Friday the 6th and 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Saturday the 7th and at 3:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Sunday the 28th. Tickets are available online and beginning at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 2nd, tickets will be available at North Division, 1011 W. Center Street. My wife and I saw the final performance of this show last night, and it was AWESOME! Such a phenomenal tribute to African-American history and Michael Jackson live on stage, synchronized dancing with all the tight moves, amazing vocals, and great staging, lighting, and costuming as well. Congrats to all the cast, you should be very proud of your work! Encore! Encore!
