25th Annual Lil Jeannetta Toys for the Children that Santa Forgot but God Remembered through your Gifts of Love
2 January 2010

- CYD held its 25th Annual Lil’ Jeannetta Toys for the Children that Santa Forgot but God Remembered through your Gifts of Love event on Monday, Dec. 28 at the location of the (former) North Division High School from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm. The event is held each year in remembrance of Jeannetta Robinson’s granddaughter Lil Netta who was discovered on her birthday, Dec. 27, giving away her toys to the kids attending the party. When grandmother Jeannetta asked why she did that, she responded that the children told her that they hadn’t received any toys for Christmas and since she had received toys for both, she decided to give away her Christmas toys. The event began from that day, when Lil Netta was 7 years-old. Lil Jeannetta and her mother Cheryl Robinson were murdered on April 4, 1984, but the event continued to be celebrated in memory of the granddaughter. (Photo by Harry Kemp)
